Mission Statement
Frederick Douglass Academy Charter School's mission is:
  • To prepare students to attend and compete at a top 100 college or university that best fits their goals and personalities.
  • To provide parents a first rate education for their children and to broaden their child’s life scope and opportunity;
  • To build and strengthen students of character and to equip them with the necessary skills/tools to be successful in every day life and to empower their community.

Core Beliefs

  • FDAHS will strive for excellence by establishing the highest standards and expectations for all members of our professional learning community.
  • FDAHS will be physically and emotionally safe, free from intimidation, discrimination and harassment.  
  • FDAHS faculty, parents and students will demonstrate courteous and respectful language and behavior at all times.
  • FDAHS will be free from drugs, weapons and any other harmful substance.
  • FDAHS will provide a rigorous and relevant curriculum that challenges our students to realize their highest potential and become self-directed, life-long learners.
  • FDAHS students will be the next generation of leaders, educators, and contributors to building strong economically sustainable communities in the near future.
  • FDAHS faculty, parents, and students will model the appropriate behaviors and attitudes expected of enlightened individuals in the 21st century.
